Now Out: Eight Revisions and Seven New-Monics
May 21, 2021
There's been a death in the family of someone who plays a key role in Joy o' Kanji publications. Understandably, that person needs to take time off, so it isn't possible for me to post an essay this week. Instead I've been focusing on revisions. Here are the latest ones:
- essay 1113 on 憾 (to regret strongly; be sorry; be dissatisfied)
- essay 1133 on 騎 (riding a horse; equestrian; counter for riders)
- essay 1244 on 江 (bay, cove; river)
- essay 1311 on 暫 (awhile)
- essay 1335 on 芝 (lawn grass)
- essay 1571 on 壇 (platform; podium; altar; circles)
- essay 1616 on 帝 (emperor, sovereign; god)
- essay 2102 on 訃 (news of a death)
If you've bought these essays before or if you have a subscription, you can download new versions for free. Essay 1335 is free to everyone, so anybody can see that new version.
Also, Ulrike created the following new-monics:
壮 (1514: robust)
荘 (1515: solemn)
曹 (1520: low-ranking government official)
喪 (1522: loss)
装 (1524: to dress)
遭 (1526: to encounter)
槽 (1527: tank)
