Now Out: Essay 1330 on 軸 (axis) and 6 New-Monics

The 373rd essay has posted! Essay 1330 on 軸 (axis; axle) is now available for purchase. Here's a preview:
From Earth’s axis to a penholder, from a car axle to the shaft of a feather, 軸 represents entities that are straight and long. In addition, 軸 has fun figurative uses, enabling people to say, “the core of my thinking,” “innovative plan,” “central role,” and “Language is a vertical axis connecting you to your ancestors.” Our kanji is also in terms for “Axis powers” and “axis of evil.” Learn their back stories!
Also, Ulrike created the following new-monics (which are free!):
勃 (2113: sudden)
冥 (2117: dark)
喩 (2122: metaphor)
妖 (2125: weird)
沃 (2127: fertile)
慄 (2132: to tremble)
With these additions, Ulrike has now filled in the last page of the mnemonics chart, the 2101–2136 series! These little milestones excite us greatly!
