Rhubarb (a pen name) was born in Aichi Prefecture and lived there until she was 15. At that point, she went to a boarding school in Tsukuba City. She attended Japan Women's Junior College of Physical Education so she could major in dance, then transferred to another college to study English and Spanish.
Rhubarb worked for businesses and manufacturers for several years, often doing import/export-related tasks that included translating documents and interpreting for foreign clients. Meanwhile, she continued to pursue her passions, such as dance and music. She has traveled around the world and lived in the former Yugoslavia for four years. She and her family then immigrated to Canada, where they currently live.
A curious person, Rhubarb is something of a detective, and she finds herself extremely excited when solving a puzzle and making discoveries in any field.
Her favorite kanji is 心 (こころ: heart) because she thinks we cannot live without heart.
