Teruaki Sasamoto was born in Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture. Now he lives in Tokyo.
He's curious about a wide variety of things, so he has studied everything from web design to financial engineering to probability theory. He loves Japan and Australia very much, and his dream is to live in both countries with unearned income. For that reason, he's currently studying investment.
He is also an amateur musician; he plays the guitar and the harmonica, and he's the lead vocalist in a band called The Perfect Disorders. Their songs are available on iTunes.
In addition, he is a professional calligrapher who has won awards and now sometimes teaches calligraphy to children.
His favorite phrase is 不可初心忘, which means “Never lose your initial enthusiasm.” This Chinese proverb is very important to him because his strong curiosity leads him to become bored easily. On several occasions, keeping 不可初心忘 in mind has helped him stick to things, rather than abandoning them.
Because of his scattered curiosity, he was once afraid of being asked, “What's your dream?” or “What do you really want?” But now he can answer these questions clearly. He wants a life with a sweet wife, a little bit of money, and art. That's his 夢 (ゆめ: dream).
